Stop for a visit to the splendid São Bento Station and the Cathedral. walking through the busy and picturesque Ribeira with a stop to visit the Casa do Infante, passing by the São Francisco Church, Bolsa Palace, Clérigos Tower and the nearby Carmo Church and Carmelite Church.
Porto, also known as Invicta, is one of the most visited cities in Europe. It is the city that gave the name to Portugal, in the Roman time (c. 200 a.C.), it was called Cale or Portus Cale. Porto played a key role in defending the ideals of liberalism in the battles of the nineteenth century. It is known worldwide for its bridges and ancient and contemporary architecture, and for its historical center, as well as for its wine and gastronomy, with traditional dishes such as “Tripas à Porto” or the famous “Francesinha”. In Vila Nova de Gaia, on the opposite bank of the river, we find the Port Wine Cellars, where we can know the history of the famous Port Wine and where it is possible to taste the different varieties.
